Good morning, I'm writing this email from a Starbucks in Arizona and this weather is amazing! Because I'm traveling...I am away from work; however, there's something I want you to try: Think about everything you did at work this past week. How much of it truly required your judgment, expertise, creativity, or interaction with another person? Now think about the time you spent researching, preparing reports, organizing information, writing routine emails, or handling all the smaller tasks that fill up your day. That's where I want you to start looking for AI opportunities. Cogito ____ (coming soon):August 10th What's Going on:Write down 10 tasks you did at work this week, then sort them into three categories:
Not sure where each task belongs? Paste your list into ChatGPT and ask it to categorize each one and identify exactly where AI could save you time. I included the exact prompt you can copy and paste below in the prompt of the day section.
Why it matters to you:Now look at the tasks you put under Do With AI and Let AI Handle More. Pick the 2 or 3 you repeat most often, but don’t just look at the task itself. Break it into individual steps. You'll probably discover that the entire task doesn't need AI, but several time-consuming steps inside it do. For example, if you regularly research competitors, you might spend hours visiting websites, reading announcements, and organizing your findings. Instead, collect the relevant information and give it to ChatGPT. Ask it to compare what changed, identify important differences, organize the findings into a table, and flag anything worth investigating further. You decide what those changes mean for your business and AI handles the sorting/comparison so you can spend more time on analysis rather than busy work. Prompt of the Day:I want to find practical ways to use AI in my current job. Here are 10 tasks I regularly do:
[PASTE YOUR 10 TASKS]
For each task, categorize it as Keep Human, Do With AI, or Let AI Handle More.
Then identify the 3 tasks where AI could save me the most time. For each one, break down how I currently do it step by step, show me which steps AI can handle or assist with, and give me a simple workflow I can start using today.
Be specific about what I should give AI, what prompt I should use, and what I should still review or decide myself.”
Save Time/Money:One of the easiest places to save time is the work that happens after a meeting. Instead of spending 20 minutes turning scattered notes into a recap, action items, and follow-up emails, give ChatGPT your notes or transcript and have it organize everything for you. Ask it to pull out the key decisions, assign action items by person, flag unanswered questions, and draft the follow-up emails you need to send. You still review everything for accuracy, but you've turned several manual steps into one simple review process. If you do this regularly, build a custom GPT that follows the same format and instructions after every meeting. You set up the workflow once, then reuse it each week. Check out my recent YouTube video for an introduction to creating your own GPTs. Newsletter Rec:
Now it's the end of the work week and here's my challenge to you: audit 10 tasks, find one you shouldn't be doing manually, and use AI to build a better way to do it. Reply to this email if you want assistance. Zack |
Every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday you'll get actionable ChatGPT tips, real-world AI use cases, and clear breakdowns of what's going on so you can stay ahead.
Good morning, You probably use ChatGPT by opening a new conversation, explaining what you need, adding context, and correcting the response until it gets closer to what you wanted. But if you repeat the same instructions every week, you are wasting time. A custom GPT lets you create a specialized version of ChatGPT with its own instructions, knowledge, and capabilities. Instead of teaching AI how to help you every time you open a chat, you can build an assistant that already understands its...
Good morning, You're barely using ChatGPT to its fullest capabilities. Now, I'm sure you use ChatGPT to write emails and answer questions throughout your day. Those are useful shortcuts, but they barely scratch the surface of what you can actually do with it. Today, I’ll show you five levels that can help you move beyond basic prompting and get significantly more value from ChatGPT. And tomorrow, I'm going to share an absolute game changer with you. Don't miss it. Cogito ____ (coming soon):...
Good morning, You are living through a moment where AI seems to change every day. Every day brings a new model, benchmark, product launch, or breakthrough claim and trying to keep up with all of it can feel overwhelming. When I was in undergrad studying statistics, we frequently covered a concept called the Pareto Principle. The rough idea is that 20% of the concepts explain 80% of what is happening across the industry. So if you focus on the foundational ideas first, the endless stream of...
