A New Era for The Cogito Brief

Good morning!

It's great to be back in your inbox on a regular basis. I've been working behind the scenes to redesign The Cogito Brief, and while the new format is still evolving, you'll notice a cleaner structure that's designed to make it easier to find the information that matters most to you.

The layout will remain consistent from issue to issue, so feel free to skim, jump between sections, and don't forget to participate in the poll (there will be a new one in every email).

I'm constantly looking for ways to improve the value you receive, and you'll now hear from me every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday.

One more thing: you'll notice a section called "Cogito ____." That's a teaser for something I've been building that will launch in the coming weeks. If everything goes according to plan, it will be the biggest release in The Cogito Brief's history.

Now let's get into this week's issue. And as always, I'd love your feedback. Reply and tell me what you like, what you don't, and if you find value in today's email, consider forwarding it to a friend.

What's Going on:

AI Is Creating a New Career Divide

A growing number of professionals are using AI every day to write emails, analyze data, create presentations, conduct research, and automate repetitive tasks. At the same time, many workers still aren't using AI at all.

For the first time in years, two people can have the same education, experience, and job title, yet one can produce significantly more work because they understand how to use AI effectively.

Why it matters to you:

The biggest mistake you can make right now is assuming that AI is only for people who work in technology. And every major technological shift creates winners and losers.

AI is presenting you a similar opportunity.

So you don't need to become a programmer or an AI engineer to grasp the benefits from this technology. You need to learn how these tools can help you think faster, learn faster, and produce better work.

Prompt of the Day:

Act as the world's best teacher on [topic]. Please give me the top 5 things I need to know about [topic], the 5 most common mistakes people make, and 5 ways I can incorporate this into my life today.

Save Time/Money:

For the next seven days, before starting any task that will take more than 15 minutes, ask yourself one question: "Can AI help me do this faster?"

If this habit saves you just 30 minutes per day, that's over 180 hours per year. That's the equivalent of more than four full work weeks returned to your calendar.

Newsletter Rec:

Check out The Deep View here. They're another newsletter that makes you smarter about AI & teaches you how to leverage AI to become more productive. I think you'll enjoy their content since it's a nice compliment to what I share.

If you enjoyed this issue, reply with your thoughts or forward it to someone who would benefit from it. I'll see you tomorrow.

Good morning, I'm writing this email from a Starbucks in Arizona and this weather is amazing! Because I'm traveling...I am away from work; however, there's something I want you to try: Think about everything you did at work this past week. How much of it truly required your judgment, expertise, creativity, or interaction with another person? Now think about the time you spent researching, preparing reports, organizing information, writing routine emails, or handling all the smaller tasks that...

Good morning, You probably use ChatGPT by opening a new conversation, explaining what you need, adding context, and correcting the response until it gets closer to what you wanted. But if you repeat the same instructions every week, you are wasting time. A custom GPT lets you create a specialized version of ChatGPT with its own instructions, knowledge, and capabilities. Instead of teaching AI how to help you every time you open a chat, you can build an assistant that already understands its...

Good morning, You're barely using ChatGPT to its fullest capabilities. Now, I'm sure you use ChatGPT to write emails and answer questions throughout your day. Those are useful shortcuts, but they barely scratch the surface of what you can actually do with it. Today, I’ll show you five levels that can help you move beyond basic prompting and get significantly more value from ChatGPT. And tomorrow, I'm going to share an absolute game changer with you. Don't miss it. Cogito ____ (coming soon):...
